The "Origin not running" error.
Hello guys! I know you must be excited to see this error again. :$ Yes, I did follow your post "How to install the Sims 4 correctly" and no, it still doesn't work. This is not my first time installing your TS4 (it's probably the fourth ) and it worked every time, apart from now - I get the "Unable to start: Origin is currently not running. Please make sure that Origin is running before attempting to play The Sims(TM) 4" error. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong, obviously it's something, so I thought you guys might know. Now the things you might want to know: my antivirus has expired so I don't obviously need to exclude anything from that, windows defender is turned off as is the firewall, the base game and the packs are downloaded through torrent, from your website and at last I don't have Origin installed on my laptop. Also I think it is worth mentioning that the game works with the GTW pack, I can play the it, there are no errors, but the moment I install the GT pack it shows the error. Now you did say to move the folder with the game before installing the GT pack, which I did, and it still shows the error. Also in the "How to install The Sims correctly" post it is written that by default the game will be installed in Program Files (x86)/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 but it isn't, for me the default is in Program Files /Electronic Arts/The Sims, so the second time installing it (on this laptop, I tried uninstalling it and installing it a few times to be sure I tried almost everything ) I noticed that and changed it to what it should be, but it installed in the Program Files folder anyways. I tried moving the (game) folder everywhere basically, it still shows the error only after I install the GT and the Ultimate Fix, the base game and GTW work fine. Originally I moved the folder after I installed GTW,GT and the Ultimate Fix, then I tried moving it before installing everything else, I moved it to from the EA folder to Program Files (x86) and also to Program Files, neither helped. I really have no idea what to do now, I feel like I tried everything. But I'm sure you guys can help, maybe even attempt to install it through the TeamViewer if nothing else works, I probably still messed up when following the guides. Thank you for your help!

Hello again!
The reason the game is installing for you under C:\Program files, is because your Windows operating system is a 32-bit version. And 32-bit versions of operating systems do NOT have a "C:\Program files (x86)". So you can leave your Sims 4 install folder where it is.
I would actually suggest you try turning Windows Defender ON, and then try configure exclusions there. The worst thing that can happen is that it (still) won't work.
Also, you said your main anti-virus has expired. Is it still active though? If yes, check again the exclusions.
Finally, have a look at this here and try re-applying the no-Origin files here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t23706-latest-available-no-origin-files-for-the-sims-4-version-1-20-60-1020
TeamViewer is not a viable option in this case I'm afraid, since in my experience (and I did quite a lot of TeamViewer sessions over the years on that), in most cases this error is something that can't be solved. If you have a program named "Lavasoft Web Companion" though, try uninstalling it, and try the game again.
Good luck for now!

I personally don't know any other (PC) game that has so many difficulties like this cracked TS4. Which may also be a reason the game itself is not very popular.
In the past I suggested to people to at least consider a fresh Windows re-installation, if they really wanted to play the game. Or, if your computer is compatible, try installing a 64-bit Windows, so you could then try running the TS4_x64.exe, which appears to be less prone to failure.

Re: The "Origin not running" error.
I do love the game, but not enough to reinstall windows or install the 64-bit version. When I come home again, I will try to install it again on the computer which I hope will work, but for now, I'll just find a way to survive without it on the laptop for a few months. Thank you again!

Maybe you could try some of the possible tricks mentioned here:

Though these seem to be very isolated cases; e.g. the one who says he used the mobile phone WIFI to connect his computer to the internet is so far the only case in which that worked. But it's still interesting, and there seems to be a lot still, that we don't know of this cracked TS4.
