The setup has detected that no version of The Sims 3 is installed? Service initialization failed?[SOLVED]

I torrented The Sims 3 Ultimate Bundle. I've moved files, uninstalled and reinstalled it, and tried to get the patch from different places. I need to update the base game in order to install The Sims 3 Pets, but when I try to update it it says "The setup has detected that no version of The Sims 3 is installed." How can I update my game, and how can it detect that I do indeed have The Sims 3 installed?

I downloaded The Sims 3 fix but when I try to open the files it says "Unable to start game. Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)"

Hello,

Indeed, this problem is most likely caused by the "Complete Bundle". These are usually modified installers and therefore Windows doesn't recognize them as seperate games.
What you can do to fix this problem:

1. Uninstall The Sims 3 base game.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Install the Games4theworld version of The Sims 3 base game from www.games4theworld.org (Including any expansions, if you like)
4. When installation has finished, please apply this Fix: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems
