Can't update to 1.67 - Setup has detected that no version of Sims 3 is installed Empty Can't update to 1.67 - Setup has detected that no version of Sims 3 is installed

Hello,

Interesting problem.  I've used the UltimateFix in the past. Trying to update my game from 1.57 to 1.67 using the Ultimate Fix and can't get it to work.  I tried the manual patch as well, but every time the installer is loaded to apply the patch, the error message "Setup has detected that no version of Sims 3 is installed - This update requires that a previous version of the game be installed".

BTW, the base game and expansions were my own disc based installs.  No Steam or torrents.  I *think* the only expansion that was from Games4world was Island Paradise and Showtime, but can't tell.

Hello snfrailey and welcome,

This is a highly annoying error, and I'm afraid the only thing I can suggest - for now - is that you un-install your base game, and then re-boot the computer. After the re-boot, re-install the base game from the disc again. After which you try the manual patch then.

See if that works, this time. Good luck for now and keep us posted !
