The Sims Medival error (0x0175dcbb).[SOLVED] kind of
I've recieved this error twice with the Sims 3 - Pets, and now again with Medieval. It only gives me this AFTER I quit playing the first time, and I totally gave up on TS3 Pets. I REALLLLLYYY don't want to start over for a third time... Any way I can fix this?
No mods are on my comp. (Don't know how to get or use them.)
All downloads are from the games4theworld site.
I copied the cracks to all the correct folders, tried using the launcher, etc.
I tried the Ultimate Fix, and got the same exact result...
The exact error message is;
Unable to start game
Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb)
I hope help comes soon. I'd like to play before my first child arrives and I've got time only for sleep and feedings. (:
Thanks!

Hello,
Congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm a mother of 2 little girls myself and the youngest is 9 months. I can assure you, there'll be time to play the game. I always play some kind of game as I'm nursing.
Have you tried starting the game without the launcher? This post will tell you how its done. It describes the process for The Sims 3, but it will work quite the same with Medieval.

Thanks, I'm having a girl too. Just 4 weeks left!! (:
Yes, that's the only way I bring up the game to play. I only use the launcher itself when I get errors or want to update. When I open the launcher it says there was an error in startup. I'd give you the exact wording, but now it's refusing to even open up at all. Hmm...
P.S
I have NOOO clue how to take a screenshot... If you want one I might need a little leading. (:

Hello,
Congratulations on your pregnancy indeed!
You said you applied the Ultimate Fix, but did you also install Pirates & Nobles? It's mandatory for the Fix to work.

Yes, my father is on top of that constantly. A big computer guy. I'm going to try to add the Expansion and see how that looks.

You guys are beyond helpful. I'm slightly overwhelmed at the immediate responses. (:
I just have to work up the courage to download another file. They threatened to shut my internet off if they caught me doing it again. Yaayy.

Re: The Sims Medival error (0x0175dcbb).[SOLVED] kind of
I'll keep you updated. Thanks a bunch. (:
//EDIT
I just found that reinstalling it makes it work like a charm. Not that
big of a obtacle, because it installs in about a half hour onto my
computer. I'm content with reinstalling it after I close it every time,
simply because it's not that bad. I'll eventually install the expansion,
but for now, I'm staying off the radar...
Thanks so
much. You guys were much more responsive and quick AND HELPFUL than I
expected. If I encounter a problem with Pirates and Nobles I'll
definitely post again.

Oh yes, how stupid of me! I'm used that people want the latest version of the game. If you want the latest version of the game, you must install Pirates & Nobles.
Since you just wanted your game to work (without updating), the Fix wasn't even necessary.
At least you got fast internet, not many people on the Forum have it.
Anyhow, have fun playing and indeed don't hesitate to post again if you run into any more problems!
I'm sure your little girl will find the game as fun as you do, later when she's a big girl.
