Game says Parenthood DLC not owned?

Everything else in the game works, but even after downloading and installing the new dlc, it says the parenthood dlc isn't owned. all the other dlc shows up though. I added the exceptions to my antivirus and even downloaded and installed it again, but it still shows that the parenthood dlc isnt owned. anyone know how to fix this?

Are you opening the game with the new sims .exe in the Game/Bin folder? I had the same problem until I realized I was using the old shortcut I had set...
