Sims 3 crash when i travel

Hi all
I just updated the new patch for Sims 3. All is well until i decided to take a trip to Egypt. So my Sim left the city and the load screen came up. It will try to load for awhile then Sims 3 closes and a window pop up and says Sims 3 stopped working.
Any ideas anyone?
