Zoo Tycoon 2 won't work. Empty Zoo Tycoon 2 won't work.

Post by Guest Wed 11 Oct 2017, 18:36

So I used to have Zoo tycoon 2 on this computer from games4theworld but I uninstalled it. Now that I want to play it again I can't install it because setup never works and autorun says its already installed on my computer. I have checked everywhere there are no files for zoo tycoon execpt the ones I got when i unzip the installation zip. I also tried running the game directy via files folder startup but there is no sound to the game and some messed up textures when I do that. Anyone have any clue as to what I should do to be able to play the game?

Hello and welcome to the Forum @adie98,

You have to check your "registry" as well, for any remains of the previous game installation. We don't have a program at the moment on our download list to do that, but if you google for "CCleaner" and let it check your computer, it may find those abandoned registry entries. Edit: link here.

After running CCleaner and deleting the stuff, re-boot the computer.

The basic problem with Windows, and it's something that the average user may not always be aware of, is that you should not uninstall anything unless it is absolutely necessary to do so, and if you do, then it should be done properly. For example, you also have to re-boot the computer afterwards.

If you don't feel confident in messing around with the registry yourself (or with CCleaner), I have a few minutes on the Forum chatbox, which you can find at the top of the page here. Please log on there, and I will be trying to assist you through TeamViewer.
