The Sims 4 freezing during first plumbob loading screen [SOLVED]
Hello! I've just downloaded The Sims 4 with all the latest available packs, and I followed each and every step in the guide, but when I open the game it runs fine. Until I get past the company logos, into the first plumbob loading screen, it freezes just before bringing me into the main menu of the game.
I'll note that, the first time I ran the game, it loaded fine into the main screen, but after clicking through all the "Welcome to the [Expansion name here] pack!"'s, it froze upon exiting the last one - so I force closed the game, tried again, and then the above started ^ I looked through most forum posts for help, tried some fixes (downloading fresh Game folder, renaming the documents folder, deleting the previous Game folder and then pasting the latest - Fitness Stuff - files into my The Sims 4 folder, located in Program Files/The Sims 4, I've also tried running it as administrator - set it in a previous version of windows in compatibility, the folders it's in are in exclusions on my antivirus (Avast), etc.
Should I put on DEP for Sims 4?
I'm not sure if I've done anything wrong, after I used all the steps correctly, or if something is missing or..?
Any kind of help is appreciated
Thank you
*Note 2
When starting it up with TS4.exe, the entire client freezes as "The Sims 4 is not responding" and it stays stuck like that.
When starting it up with TS4x64.exe, clicking the client (which I eventually minimize), does nothing to open it, but when it is open, nothing moves, nothing clicks and the client doesn't say it's frozen or unresponsive - I also get no type of crash message or log, I'm not sure what's going on here..
Edit note: Should I try this "ZLOrigin" thing I saw around forums..? Any replies are nice, please ;-;

Re: The Sims 4 freezing during first plumbob loading screen [SOLVED]
Hi there and welcome to the forum!
Aside from your anti-virus, have also you excluded the files/folders in your windows defender as well? Have you tried running the game in windowed mode? You can try the DEP settings at this point and also check that you have installed all the DLCs correctly and in the right order.
Try checking your task manager to see if Sims 4 is still lingering in the background. If you're up for it, you can try to re-install the game again (make sure you meet the mininum requirements though), and then test out the game pack by pack, just to see when the 'freezing' starts. If it's too tedious, you can install ZLOrigin instead which you can read about here.
ZLOrigin is basically the 'crack' version of Origin. You can download the sims 4 there as well as choose which DLCs you like to install. It's a good option for users with limited space/memory in their pc.

Re: The Sims 4 freezing during first plumbob loading screen [SOLVED]
Thank you very much for the reply!
It seems my computer doesn't want to add it to Windows Defender nor does it work with DEP for it's own reasons - so I think I'll test out ZLOrigin instead.
*I also had it set to Windowed mode but even that froze :<
Thank you for your help, it's much appreciated!

Ah, that is odd though. I did know a user having trouble setting up the windows defender as well.
Do keep us updated if you still encounter the same problem after ZLOrigin or have further questions/bugs.

Re: The Sims 4 freezing during first plumbob loading screen [SOLVED]
I-I'm not sure what I did but in the middle of installing packs, I got an error I couldn't identify, and then after closing and re-opening the launcher (ZLOrigin), my window got stuck like this, even after reinstalling ;;
*EDIT*
It seems I got the previous - first - G4TW download to work - there's a chance I missed a file, but after putting in all the folders again the game seemed to get past freezing so far ;;

Hey and sorry for the late reply.
Regarding ZLOrigin problems, I'm afraid I'm not well-verse in that area, since I have not installed it before.
So are you currently using the G4TW version at the moment? Did you have any other bugs after that?

Re: The Sims 4 freezing during first plumbob loading screen [SOLVED]
The small Origin-window is caused by trying to open (ZL)Origin twice. Even when you close Origin there is still the Webhelper active.
Check via Taskmanager.
Re: Running through all the Welcome screens and freeze at the last one.
There is a fault in the Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 not correctly communicating with the install folder.
This can be solved by downloading a completed (empty) folder
Change the folder name to the one used in your language (now de Sims 4, but should maybe be The Sims 4)
Whn succesful you can add your own folders Tray and Save
