Problems with installing and patching Sims 2 Complete Collection
Hi!
I've been trying to install the Sims 2 Complete Collection available in this site for 2 days now without luck. I always manage to install the base game(Double Deluxe), University and Open for Business but when it's time to apply the patch for Open for Business, as stated in the installation guide, I always get this error:
"This patch is designed for Open for Business, but we see you have a more recent expansion installed. To make sure you have the most recent patches, it may be necessary to transfer the patch to your most recent expansion." (roughly translated from Portuguese, the language I installed the games in)
When I then click "Ok" another prompt comes up that says: "Error during update. It may be necessary to reinstall The Sims 2 Open for Business. Make sure that you backup your saved games."
Even if I go on installing the next expansion (Pets) without patching Open for Business, I'm unable to install it because when the installation is done and goes on to check for updates automatically, it says:
"This patch is designed for Pets, but we see you have a more recent expansion installed. To make sure you have the most recent patches, it may be necessary to transfer the patch to your most recent expansion." And it goes on interrupting the installation and freezing on me. I'm forced to close the setup in task manager to get rid of it.
Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?
PS. I'm running Windows 10 64-bit, I've also tried running the autorun.exe and the patches on various compatibility modes and running the program as an administrator, but no luck so far.
