Sims 3 installation- error

Prob the wrong forum to post this, but cant seem to post in any of the other ones.


I have installed the game 2 days ago, but kept getting an error when loading saying something about it being a wrong version or something, i was able to kick continue but was warned it would prob crash.

i got to enter the game make a char, play a bit, but everytime i tried to buy furniture or move something around it crashed.

i then reinstalled but now after inserting mounted disk 1 i keep getting an error saying corrupted file fullbuild1.package

i am sure this is why it didnt work before when installed it.

any way of fixing this?

The error comes up when installing the base game, so only way i can get further than install is by ignoring the fullbuild1.package error, but that results in the game crashing over and over again....


i did install it on my husbands computer aswell, when tried to, but got same error.

we have now found a new version on the game that seems to work, but the one we downloaded from here(the piratebay) just wont install.

gonna try and add the expancions when i finish the installation, so problem is kinda solved..i hope
