Help! Unable to install game

Hiya!


I've been a huge Sims fan for years, started out with Sims 2 and am now on 4. I found this site some years ago and have been using it exclusively ever since. 

I recently upgraded my laptop, going from a Win8 to a Win10. (not sure if this plays into it, the different OS). My former computer, had absolutely no issues downloading or installing the game, or even installing mods and CC. 

This computer, on the other hand, has been a right pain in the butt since I've started this whole process over again. 

I've downloaded all sims 4 downloads, from the base game all the way to cats and dogs. 

I have gone step by step through each pack's instructions and followed everything exactly. 

From the base game up through Fitness, no problems at all. I'd install the pack via WinWar, start the game, load all the way through choosing a home and it ran great. 

When I tried to install ToddlerStuff, and I am once again, following step by step. I can not get the game to load. I click on the icon in my taskbar, it waits a few seconds before you see the tray icon flash like it's starting to load and then it immediately shuts down. No error message, no intro to the game. Nothing.

I redownloaded the TodderStuff pack, just in case I got a bad file, installed it once again and still will not launch into the game.  I have also tried going manually into my install location - C: Program Files/The Sims 4/Game/Bin to use the TS4-64.eve option, still does not launch. 

I'm honestly not sure what I'm doing wrong as I've followed everything exact (or so I think). I'm desperate to play with my Sims again, and while I could just go get the other laptop and update the game...I really want it installed on this one. 

Any ideas? Suggestions?  Help!

It looks like it starts, then black screen ?
Be patient and wait a while.
Look at the LED indication action on your PC, when it flashes or burns the game is still loading.

Nope, it doesn't even get that far. The little icon on the task bar will "pop" (best way I can describe it) like it's going to open but then immediately closes again.  I tried to get video of it to show but not sure how to post it here.

After the installation of Fitness, did you delete the folder Game from your install folder and re-copied the Game folder from Fitness again ?
Then install Toddler Stuff.

Oooh that worked. Now I'm re-installing Toddler Stuff and if that works like it should, onto Cats and Dogs.  I'll check back in and let you know!
