Sims 4 error

I have windows 10 and I am a first time user.
I have followed each step and cut off all antivirus and I'm still getting an error when I try to start the game.
It says the contents of your user data directory were created by a newer version of the Sims 4 and cannot be loaded. Please update your game via origin to play.
Any advise on how to fix this would be great!

Open the folder User\your username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 (or whatever its called in your language, such as Los Sims or Die Sims )
Delete the file GameVersion.txt
Start your game again.

Plz help i have followed all the steps to install the sims 4 but when i try to launch it i get a pop up box saying The Sims 4 already running..
What should i do is it bcuz i didnt put the Laundry pack bcuz its not available on the download page
