Lots/Households from My Library freeze the game when I try to place them

So I haven't seen anyone get this issue, but I was making a household and I wanted to place a pre downloaded sim. You know how when you click on a sim or a lot from the library tab you get a new little tab with more pictures and details, everything in the background is darkened? When I clicked merge with household on the sim I wanted, the little detail tab goes away but my whole screen stays a bit darkened, as if the tab was still open. The sim in the background is moving normally, everything looks normal but I can't click anything.

Try running your game without any CC and mods. Go to "Documents\Electronic Arts" and rename "The Sims 4" to "The Sims 4_". The game will re-create this folder so if you want to get your saves, mods and CC back just delete "The Sims 4" and rename "The Sims 4_" to "The Sims 4".

If that solves your problem it means some mods or CC are breaking your game. SimsVIP has a list of broken/updated mods, Sims 4 Studio can fix most of CC.

If removing mods and CC doesn't help, delete "Game" folder from your Sims 4 installation directory and download fresh one from here.
