Sims 4 - Get Famous error message NOT A VALID WIN32 APPLICATION
Over years I've used G4TW for all of my Sims. This expansion just isn't launching. The error message reads:
"C:\Program Files (x86) \TheSims4\Game\Bin\TS4.exe is not a valid Win32 application".
Searched various forums but no answers.
I deleted everything and reinstalled it, launching the game with every new expansion and its only the Get Famous expansion that's having trouble.
Please tell me you have an answer as its taken blummin ages to get to this point

C:\Program Files (x86) is a folder for 64 bits Windows.
Perhaps you should start the game with TS4_x64.exe instead of TS4.exe
Make a new shortcut from C:\Program Files (x86) \TheSims4\Game\Bin\TS4_x64.exe

I used the other launcher that you have suggested but that didn't work either. Tried running as administrator too.
My ram isn't up to scratch on this pc. Could that be an issue?

Welcome to the Forum,
The error means that your antivirus destroyed the (TS4.exe) file. You can indeed try running the TS4_x64.exe, or what I would also recommend is that you make sure to configure your antivirus exclusions properly. How to turn off Windows Defender in Windows 10, can be a start:
https://www.games4theworld.club/t32067-two-ways-of-disabling-windows-defender-under-windows-10#186694
If you have any other antivirus programs, play around with the settings or do more research on your own. Once you set all exclusions properly, re-apply the Get Famous DLC (copy/paste/overwrite), and your files are restored again.
I think I mentioned it briefly here, though the topic title is mostly about "service initialization failed [insert code]":

I don't use any antivirus on that PC. It's Windows 7 as 10 caused me issues with games in the past.
I'll look at the link you've shared now.
Thanks!

Everybody - using Windows OS - has at least one antivirus, and that is Windows Defender. Though in Windows 7, you can turn it off directly from within the program. Also, I would not underestimate the items that are installed alongside freeware.
Every noticed that in free software you usually have the options between "normal" and "expert/advanced" installation? And can you imagine what happens if people choose "normal" installation, or click through the installer too quickly? Yes, unwanted secondary software (so-called "bloatware") gets installed. You have to choose "advanced install" and un-tick the additional programs. Well, in most cases at least.
If unwanted stuff still gets installed despite using "advanced install", you could try using programs like "Your Un-installer Pro", which is also on the G4TW download-list. It lists all programs installed, and allows for complete removal (Super Mode), of listed programs.
You would be surprised about how many people have stuff installed that they don't know about.

Re: Sims 4 - Get Famous error message NOT A VALID WIN32 APPLICATION
Why am I only having problems with the latest expansion and not the others?
I have uninstalled the entire game, wiped it from every corner of my PC, reinstalled every one in the correct order and followed every instruction and still the same message pops up.
I've been really rigorous in ensuring every single part of Windows protection is off. As well as going to the depth of my system to check for hidden virus protection etc.
Do you have any other suggestions?

Install 7-zip and use it for extracting. If that still doesn't help - redownload Get Famous.

I don't know, but I can give you an approximation as to what may be wrong:
- the files of "the other" DLC are overwritten/updated by the DLC that you applied most recently, and that is the Get Famous expansion pack. And more specifically, the No-Origin files of Get Famous are targeted.
- antivirus software in general targets "hot" stuff, and Get Famous is such a "hot" DLC, at least measured by the (admittedly subjective) viewpoint of times, which the download links were reported here by hostile elements.
- like anadius hinted, maybe it did not download properly, or you did not extract with 7-zip.
...
You can also try grabbing just the "Game"-folder from here, and place it inside your installation path of The Sims 4. Maybe you don't have to re-download the entire pack.

Then try the game again-
