New update doesn't seem to work

So I've been keeping up with the updates coming out but even after applying 1.49.65.1020 it doesn't seem to give me anything new. The stranger thing is the update number in the game itself shows 1.49.65.1020 but I don't have any of the new objects. On top of that my hotkeys for time don't appear to work, so I wonder if I've applied it wrongly. Would really like to avoid reinstalling the whole thing from scratch.

Buttons not working sounds like a mod problem. Go to Documents\Electronic Arts and move The Sims 4 folder to desktop. This will start the game fresh, you can move saves back later. If that doesn't solve the problem, run the validator (in quick scan mode) and post the result here.

Oh and somebody told me those items appeared for them only after they went to Filters -> Packs and selected Base Game.

Ah, I've now found the stuff and after removing my mods I can use the controls. Going to try to update them. Thanks for your help.
