Sims 3 crashes after placing an item in buy mode.[SOLVED]

. I followed all the steps carefully, and tried to play the game
again after each step was followed. the 'fatal error' problem can be
fixed by going back and changing the compatibility of the .exe files to
not use the windows 95 settings or whatever they are. After doing that
step, I deleted the folder in documents, tried starting up a new game,
and I'm still having the same problem. So it wasn't my saved game that
was corrupt unfortunately it must be the game. Not sure what to do at
this point. Thank you.

Sorry should have mentioned, I have all the games + expansions installed thanks to you lovely people just trying this patch now akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/TS3_1.29.55.0140xx_update.exe to see if that helps, just searching around the forums to try as many fixes as possible. Will keep you updated.

After downloading that and installing it, re-doing the cracks, the problem is now fixed! Thank you for your wonderful forums, I hope this helps someone fix the same problem.
