Sims 4 has stopped working. Empty Sims 4 has stopped working.

Hi!

First of all I want to thank you for all the work you are doing!

So, I downloaded the all in one pack a few months ago. When the 1.49 update came out I guess i did something wrong and had to download the torrent and start over. 

Today I wanted to install the 1.50 update and followed the steps about the no origin fix, patch etc downloads. Those are downloaded. I also have the setup file. It installed. But when I click on TS4 shortcut on my desktop I get the message that the Sims 4 has stopped working. I've tried it a few times, but get the same message. Any help please?

(Sorry for my English, it's not my native language)

Hope to hear from you soon, because I really want to play.

It says could not detect game version. Wrong directory selected.

I've read an earlier post and moved the sims 4 folder to the desktop. Guess that was very wrong. 

Do I have to download the entire game again? And if so can I just put my mods and tray folder in. I don't want to start all over again.

This always happens to me. I'm not really a computer wiz.

In validator you're supposed to select the installation folder. The one with "__Installer", "Data", "Delta" and other folders. Validator looks for "Game\Bin\Default.ini" or "Game\Bin\codex.cfg" file to detect the game version. Are you sure you're selecting the proper folder?

If I chose Installer or Delta or Data I get the same message about wrong version. I'll just download the entire game again. :-((.

Where can I find the all in one pack with the latest patch update and can I put my old mods and tray folder in? Thanks1

Select "The Sims 4" folder that has the folders I mentioned inside.

Yes (click on the "report" to show it). The folder you selected has just the patch installed. There's no base game, no DLCs. Do you still have that previous all-in-one somewhere?

Copy all files from that all-in-one somewhere, for example "C:\Program Files\The Sims 4 all-in-one". Then move all files from the folder you selected in validator to the folder with all-in-one. This should update your game.

Next time you use my repack - select the folder with your previous installation. If your game is in "C:\Program Files\The Sims 4", then select it in installer.

Halo...

First of all thank you for this forum to helping people with any kind of trouble.
So, i just update my game to city living and it work normally then close itself while i playing and show message that 'the sims 4 has stopped working'. I can play the game for 15-30 minutes or 1-2 hours before it close itself. can u help me how to fix it... i want to play it for long time

Go to Documents\Electronic Arts and move The Sims 4 folder to desktop. This will start the game fresh, you can move saves back later. If that doesn't solve the problem, run the validator and post the result here.

We're on forum, so use forum format:
report:

Are you sure you've installed DLCs in correct order? (Get to Work, Get Together and then City Living)

You can try moving the game to shorter path, like "C:\Games\The Sims 4", then adding "The Sims 4\Game\Bin" folder to your anti-virus exception list.

Yes, that's the one. Nothing's wrong with your game installation folder. If moving/renaming "Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4" folder so the game starts completely fresh (no mods, no saves, no cache, no options, etc.) didn't help, then I have no idea how to help you.

I just told you your installation folder is fine. Reinstalling won't do anything. Try disabling your anti-virus completely. You could try with the newest version of the game (if you don't want all DLCs use my repack, link in signature). Or maybe your PC just doesn't meet the minimum requirements?
