Reinstallation issues.
Hello again!
In updating to include Moschino stuff I have somehow messed up my game. I had to delete and reinstall the game up to right before Island Living. I did not install the last 3 updates yet (Island Living, the game update and Moschino). I'm getting the 'update Origin' warning. (I deleted Origin.) Here is my validator data:
Please help me fix this as I am having serious Sims withdrawal.
TIA,
K

Re: Reinstallation issues.
You're not getting "update Origin" warning. You're getting "The contents of your user data directory were created by a newer version of Sims 4 and cannot be loaded. Please update your game via Origin to play." error. You can ignore the Origin part but please, read the rest. You were playing with Island Living, so you had game version 1.52.100.1020 or 1.53.115.1020. Now you're trying to start the game version 1.50.67.1020 and as the error says, it won't work. There are only two safe solutions:
1. Update your game.
2. Delete folder in Documents, but that will delete your saves, mods, etc., etc.

Also, you don't need the (1.53.) update between Island Living and Moschino Stuff. Just install Island Living => Moschino, and you'll normally be fine.

Re: Reinstallation issues.
Thanks for your quick reply!
1. I didn't want to update with Island Living, the July 16 update and Moschino since it wasn't working, but it seems that is the issue? So if I understand correctly, I now need to delete the game file, add Island Living, delete that game file, and add the July 16 update, then delete that game file and add Moschino?
2. The game is freshly installed, with my saved games in a separate folder, so that's not a concern.
Thanks so much!

Your save-folders are not the issue. If you don't want to install the other stuff, at least try deleting the "GameVersion.txt" file under Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. Then try the game again.

Re: Reinstallation issues.
I'm sorry I left this hanging but sometimes you just need a break from fixing things, lol. I ended up reinstalling everything again, and it finally started. But now my game is quite laggy, and it seems my Dine Out objects are corrupted. There is either an X in their place in buy mode or the objects are showing up in wild colours. I went to delete a lamp like this and my game crashed. I don't have any mods (as that made my game laggy last time). Please advise, and thanks in advance for all of your help-it is much appreciated!

Re: Reinstallation issues.
Go to Documents\Electronic Arts and move The Sims 4 folder to desktop. This will start the game fresh, you can move saves back later. If that doesn't solve the problem, run the validator and post the result here.
