I got this error after i updated the game to 1.31 and installed showtime , till that my game was working fine. And also I have a problem with my game launcher - ' THERE WAS AN ERROR DURING STARTUP. PLEASE SEE THE LOG FOR MORE DETAILS ' Please help guys and i don't wanna uninstall and then reinstall my game coz I don't wanna lose my saved games!

Hello,
Welcome to the forum.
I can ease your mind to start with, if you do have to reinstall your save games are safe. If it gets to that, you can backup your save games.
Lets see about your error though, it looks like an error that might come up when there's a problem with the registry. Try using Ccleaner.

Hello,
Do you have mods/cc? If yes, take them out of your game and see if it works now. Just go to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 and copy the mods folder to (for example) your desktop, now delete it (from the above mentioned folder) and try to start your game.

Yeah it did work! Smile But the launcher still says the same thing 'THERE WAS AN ERROR DURING STARTUP. PLEASE SEE THE LOG FOR MORE DETAILS'.

Hello,

Please try this:

1. Go to: Documents\Electronic Arts
2. You'll see a folder called "The Sims 3".
3. Drag & drop this folder to your Desktop and remove it from your Documents folder.
4. Start the game and try again.

Did you try starting the game without the launcher too?

I reinstalled the game and now it works fine. I actually downloaded FLT's showtime and maybe that was the problem. I'm currently downloading your Showtime and I hope it works! Anyway thanks a lot for helping me! Smile
