Blue screen of fail ):
So I got the new Showtime expansion. So excited. It was like Christmas! I installed that and the new ultimate fix. Everything was okay. When I was creating a new Sim, it froze once. For awhile... I waited and it went away. I fixed my new house in the new neighborhood then decided to go to a play. That's basically where I'm stuck now. I try to go anywhere and it completely freezes up. Then it crashed. The whole computer. Spent the rest of that day trying to figure out what went wrong.
Today, the launcher crashed a couple times but finally decided it would work fine. I tried again at loading my game. Now without any CC. Same thing happened. Just now... like 5 minutes ago, I got the blue screen of death. ): I'm so frustrated and sad.
I did the DEP thing. I have the latest fix and all that. I have already moved the my documents/electronic arts/sims 3 folder. Am I going to have to completely reinstall everything? I have all the expansions except WA and Outdoor living stuff.
now what? *facedesk*

Hello,
There are a few things to do.
The first logical step is to have a look at your drivers. Since this problem started occurring after you installed Showtime, it may be that one of your drivers is outdated. Have a look at all hardware drivers and see if there are updates. Do the same for your OS.
If you're still getting the BsoD, have a look at your hardware. Literally, so open the case and look at the various cards, making sure they're in their slots properly. It doesn't hurt repeating that this is done with care, so stay focused and don't use any force. Also, make sure your pc is disconnected from the power source so before you start, shut it down, unplug it, and use the power button a couple of times. It may also be a good idea to remove rings and bracelets if you have any.

Re: Blue screen of fail ):
I had already checked for driver updates and I read your post and was like, "ok sure" but now I can't find a screwdriver small enough to get into my laptop. lol! However, I decided to run WoW to see if it was my computer and if it would affect it. Which it didn't really. I had a short moment of lag but that was all. No disconnect or crash with WoW. I don't know if that indicates anything.

Hello,
Don't open up your laptop! lol
That doesn't apply to laptops obviously.
Admin may have another idea though. If your other games run just fine it's probably a Sims issue rather than a pc issue.

Hello,
Where do you put your PC when playing The Sims 3? I mean, on a table or something?
Does your PC get very hot while playing?

Well. I put it on the arm of the couch. Which is like a table covered in leather. It's not soft. It's supportive enough to hold up a glass of water fine. It usually doesn't get too hot unless it's in my lap which I don't like to play games in my lap anyway. But I can't get to any point in Sims for it to overheat my computer it dies right out of the gate basically.

Hello,
Is it, well... possible to take a picture of the error itself?

Re: Blue screen of fail ):
I can attempt it. But wouldn't a crash erase a screenshot? I mean my best description of it is: My saved game loads then freezes. Then -may- unfreeze. I click something it freezes, then it -may- unfreeze or it will crash and I get the Blue screen of death. But it just freezes then unfreezes(if I get up and go like... eat a whole sandwich so 5-10 minutes for every freeze) and 30 secs tops till the next freeze which eventually leads to me either ending the process or blue screen. Which ever one happens first.

Hello,
I actually meant a picture in like, using a digital camera.
Anyhow, laptops aren't really meant for playing games, so that may be the issue. Try this, just to be sure: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/

Re: Blue screen of fail ):
This says my CPU can't handle it. So basically if I move it to the desktop it should be fine. Sighhhh. It's worked before so I really didn't think it would be my computer. ):
//EDIT
It says I can't support WoW either though. And my WoW hasn't crashed yet.

Hello,
Computers are mysterious things sometimes.
I'd recommend trying it on your PC first and let us know the result.
