Hello,

Try this:

1. Go to: (My) Documents\Electronic Arts\
2. Backup (Read: copy to an other folder) the folder called "The Sims 3".
3. Now completely remove the "The Sims 3" folder from: (My) Documents\Electronic Arts\

Now, start your game, a new The Sims 3 folder will be generated. Set all the options as you want them, then exit. Now, open the folder you backed up before and copy the saves, downloads and mods (if you have any) to the new folder. You'll have to reinstall any content that may have been installed by the launcher.
When finished, start your game again and see if your settings have remained as you left them.

Still didn't work. Setting were the same when old folder was removed and/or put back. No mods in my game, only happened after new update.

Hello,

But after you remove the The Sims 3 folder, did you put the settings, and then put the one you backed up back in there? Because if you did, that doesn't work. The idea was to create a fresh new folder, put your settings and then copy only your save games and downloads folder to the new folder, not the entire backed up The sims 3 folder.

yes, i didn't do that yet i still got the same thing. In fact, when i took out the old folder and started the game to make the new (how it does it automatically) the setting STILL didn't change in the new one. The same thing kept happening!

Hello,

Ok that's a little weird. It could be a patch bug, or something else. You're not on MAC are you?

Hello,

That could be the problem, yes. Try running your sims in win 7 compatibility mode.
