The Sims 3 Settings. [SOLVED]

I have The Sims 3 and all the EXP and Stuff packs installed but when i start the game i cant change the settings, every time i change anyting to what i want and press the confirm button they wont save except for the resolution.
I had it working on this computer before i formated and reinstalled windows on it and i have tried by Uninstalling/Reinstalling my Graphics card drivers but that did not work.
Any help you can give me would be very helpful.
Never mind i got it working i had to set the games Compatibility mode to Windows XP.
