Slow Motion?[SOLVED] Empty Slow Motion?[SOLVED]

Post by Guest Mon 23 Apr 2012, 21:12

Hi, I am having a problem with freezing. I've been dealing with it for a while because it wasn't so bad, but now, everything in the world is moving in slow motion. I would like to add it's only this particular world. Haven't had problems in any other world. Would also like to say it started after using the "motherlode" cheat. I hope someone can help with this problem. Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Try removing (Read: back up) all of them and restart the game.
See if it makes a difference.

Yes, I got this response.

Congratulations, your computer passes the minimum specification required to run this product.

Hello,

Ok, that's good but how does it score. That your computer passes the minimum specifications doesn't mean much. My personal experience with this is, that my (low end) pc started to have a little more trouble with The Sims 3 after each installed expansion or stuff pack. After Showtime, it was unplayable and I've downsized my game. No more stuff packs, and no extra content, store or otherwise, except for Twallan's mods because without them, you may as well throw the game in the recycle bin (IMHO).
Anyway, which world is it that you're playing? Some worlds are buggier than others.

World Adventures. I'm not sure about the specs, but I just bought this computer a few months ago. I would hope it meets all the requirements.

Hello,

Are you, by any chance, experiencing this slow motion in the China world? Because that would explain it. That particular world has a number of routing issues.
It's caused by places surrounded by unroutable terrain, sims get stuck there and cause freezing and lagging. See if you can relieve it by using the resetsim cheatcode, which resets all of the sims in that world to their home lot. If that helps at all, Overwatch may be of use to you, and you can change the lot type of the "Hot Springs" and "Dragon Springs" lots to no visitors allowed in edit town mode. You'll have to use enablelotlocking off in the command line before you can do this, since both lots are locked.

It is in China! Thanks so much I'll give it a try. resetsim works for all sims, or do I just reset my sim? I would prefer not to use the Overwatch, unless I have to. I tried to use nraas before and it caused another freezing problem where it was better to just start the whole game over. I'm trying not to have to do that again.

Hello,

You can always backup your savegames here: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\saves , so you can experiment safely.
Don't worry, Overwatch should be almost completely save to use.

Thank you!

//EDIT

Tried resetsim, nothing changed. But then I returned home, so far no
freezing. So maybe it's just China and I'll shy away. But of course
I'm curious, so when I go back to see, I'll update. Thanks for all the
help!

UPDATE!

It worked!!!!!! No freezing of any kind! THANK YOU GUYS/GALS SO VERY MUCH!

Hello,

Glad to be of help Smile
If you ever do have problems again with Shang Simla, there is supposed to be a fixed version on mod the sims or some other site with all routing issues fixed. I'm actually about to test the fixed Bridgeport file, if that works, I may go ahead and look for Shang Simla as well.
But anyway, don't hesitate to post if you have questions of problems again.
Happy simming The Sims Plumbob 1 topic closed.
