im new to this and i want to try installing an expansion pack. ive downloaded both the patch and fix but what i dont really understand is how to apply it to the game.. like do i place it in one of the game folders or do i just leave it somewhere?

what do i need the patch for by the way... my sims 3 game is already up to date, would i need it for the expansion pack? and what do i need the fix for? im really sorry if this is really dumb questions

Hello,

If your base game is up to date, you don't need to patch it again.
Which expansion pack are you adding? The fix requires at least one of the following expansions: Katy Perry Sweet treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff or Generations.
