cannot even begin to comprehend how to download the Sims 3 expansions.

I don't want to have to extract everything and look for "installation guides". I want to just have a full very very detailed list of what to do. I'm trying to download World Adventures, Ambitions, and Generations. I've done a couple different things and i'm pretty sure it was ALL out of order and royally screwed up so now.. I don't really know what to do. I don't like chopped up instructions from multiple places.

So i would really appreciate ONE list of everything i need to do and how to do it.

Alright I'm going to try to do the alternative method instead.

should i just go ahead and uninstall everything from the first attempt and start from scratch? (except for the torrents)

And in the fix will there be a # crack for all the expansions that i need to copy to the base game or will there only be two files all together that will need to be copied over? That seems fishy like its too easy, i felt that way about the first method and i was right..

I want world adventures, ambitions, and generations.

i already have a cracked base game from like 2 years ago, does this matter? i updated it with the link from "how to install Sims 3 properly"

The install bar got to right before the very end and then i got a "CRC error" telling me that 86 of the files don't match the file in setups .cab file and that the medium i'm using is corrupted. then my options are: abort, retry, ignore. I had to hit "ignore" for the same thing a couple times during installation and it always went away and resumed what it was doing, but this time no matter how many times I hit ignore it keeps popping up. I clicked it repeatedly paying attention to the file names and they are repeated.

I've looked online and have read that this is my laptop having registry errors or the drive can't properly read the disk? (it's mounted)

My dad had this laptop specifically for gaming, it's even got a fancy video card so i dont know why it's having issues.

i tried it again with winRAR, and it did the same thing. But what do you mean they aren't mounted? if I don't mount it how to i tell the installer where the "disk" is?

There's no need to mount anything to begin with; at least not for the expansions, downloaded from Games4theworld.
All you need to do is following the instructions below very carefully:

Open the .rar file you downloaded using only WinRar, which can be downloaded from www.games4theworld.org . (If you use any other software than WinRar, like WinZip or 7-zip, the files will get messed up!)
When you've opened the file using WinRar, select áll the files in it and drag & drop them to a folder on your Desktop. When the extraction is done, close the .rar file and open the folder on your Desktop.
Now, start by reading the included "# Installation Guide.txt" and you should be able to get the game to work yourself. Good luck!
