Service Initializtion Error

I have the base game and all the expansion packs installed as directed
and then installed the ultimate fix but I keep getting the same error. I
have a mac and the base game through Fast Lane I bought on CD,
subsequent EPs are from gameworld. Why is it not working after
installing supernatural and applying the ultimate fix crack?

Hi there, for Service Initialization Error, the problem usually lies with applying the crack wrongly.

Please make sure you have followed these steps:

1) Update your base game to v1.39 (either from launcher or manual patch)
2) Install the expansion packs (after they gave been converted to .dmg files using stuffit expander. If you do not know this, please feel free to ask again)
3) While installing expansion packs, do not apply any cracks that comes with the download.
4) After installation, copy the two files from #Crack folder (inside LATEST version of Ultimate Fix) to your base game's Game>Bin folder.


Your game should start fine after this

I am re-installing all exp packs without applying cracks but how am I supposed to update each exp pack if I dont apply cracks to launch game without CD?

There is no need to update each expansion (:
Step 4 will solve the problem with the problem.

I just re-installed all the games and exp packs according to your instructions. I have all exp packs. I still get this error:

1) Did you update your base game to v1.39?
2) Did you use the latest version of Ultimate Fix? (updated in Oct)
3) Did you download your EPs from games4theworld?
4) If you answered Yes to Qn 3, did you unzip it with Stuffit Expander before converting to dmg?

I'm sorry I have so many questions, I just really want to make sure before I can properly access your problem. I'm still quite new here, so I hope you will be forgiving too if I can't solve your problem at the end of the day haha.

1) Go to Applications folder. Locate The Sims 3.
2) Right click and select 'Show Package Contents'
3) press the space bar to preview the file 'info.plist'.
4) Scroll down until you see 'ClientBuild'

I patched it to 1.39. but now i get the following error when trying to install sim3packs with game launcher:
Exception Raised

Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000020 at address 0x10041bf3.
Do you wish to debug it ?

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with the packs.
Did you put them into the Documents> Electronic Arts folder under Downloads before installing with the launcher?

yes. I am not to new sims 3 and that is my usual procedure

Sorry I have not replied in a while. To be honest, I have never encountered any of these problems, so I was just hoping I could help. But well, since you mentioned you are familiar with the procedure, then I guessed I'm stumped.
The only thing I know about debug and service initialization errors are that they are caused by incorrect installations.

But since that's out of the question now, I have one last thing you can try (after searching on google):

Go to Documents> Electronic Arts

Change the file name. Maybe Electronic_Arts, or something you fancy. When you start the launcher again, it will cause it to create a new Electronic Arts folder. After that, it might run smoothly.

There are many people who have tried this and worked. So no harm trying (:
