Disc Authorisation Failure

Hope I'm posting this in the right place, I've just installed an update for the sims 3 pets and now recieve the following message when trying to play the game:
"Disc Authorisation Failure
We are unable to authorise that your game is a valid copy of the sims 3 pets, please contact customer services" Please can you help?
