Forgot to save my sims 3 game?

Ok so I just started a new town today and have been playing basically for the whole entire day and stupidly did not save even once. My sim had already gotten married and done a lot of other things as well that I do not want to have to do all over again... but anyways, right when I was about to finally save, my sims game crashed and absolutely nothing saved. So I was wondering if there's any way to restore that game?

Also I went and looked under the current game folder in the electronic arts, sims 3 folder and it was still there... but I opened up sims 3 again and then it disappeared.

Is there anyway to recover those files that were lost or the game?

I haven't tested this, but it is a theory I've been wanting to look into.

If you haven't played since you started that game, look to see if there was anything left in My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\CurrentGame.sims3 - there shouldn't be, but sometimes the game doesn't clean it out properly when you exit. If there are files in there, go into your Saves folder, create a new folder and copy the files from CurrentGame.sims3 into the folder you just created.
