Newer Expansions not showing up/ 0.0.0 [SOLVED]

I have all the expansions and stuff packs (except Katy Perry, of course) installed. Today when I installed 70s 80s 90s stuff, after installation and cracking, everything from Generations to 70s 80s 90s was grayed out in the launcher. I used the ultimate fix, following all the instructions including the manual patch. Now my launcher is giving me the version 0.0.0 with the error message.

I tried using the registry helper, to no avail. I've been playing the cracked games for awhile now and I've run into problems before, but not this one. Anything you know of that I can do to avoid a complete reinstall?

I see now that someone had the same problem as I do, but hasn't figured out a fix for it yet. I've gone through the ultimate fix three or four times.

I notice that the skuversion.txt has a date of 1/13/2013 despite using the latest patch. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I would say test out hexorcist's Registry Helper and see if that helps, since one of his pictures for errors is your first one for error during startup.

I haven't updated the Registry Helper to include the new stuff pack yet, so I wouldn't count on it being of much help until I get it in there. In fact, I'd bet it would ask if you want to delete the 70s 80s and 90s stuff registry keys when you run it as admin. I'll try to have it updated in the next few hours. In the mean time, if you could run these commands and paste the output I'll take a quick glance-over.

I scrolled up a bit and re-read your thread and it seems you have the 11/28/2012 versions of the cracked files also. I'm fairly certain those files are erroneous because, well, there has been 2 patches and a Stuff Pack released since then. We got new cracks for the 1.47 patch .. so why we would go back to a previous crack (somewhere between 1.42 [dated 1 November 2012] and 1.47 [dated 9 January 2013, I think]) is a little confusing to me. I left a note on the Ultimate Fix's thread so Admin would look into it also.

Ignore this post, the issue I was having with the crack had to do with the manual patch.

I used the crack provided in the latest version of the ultimate fix. The one in the #Crack folder. Not sure why its showing up with that date on the crack. :/

I know. If you check the dates on those files, they're dated previous to the 1.47, 1.48 patches and the stuff pack released yesterday, hence my previous reply. In short, you can't crack something that hasn't been released yet - patches are never leaked, releases sometimes are.

Disregard. Those cracks work - my issue was manual update related and it might be your issue also. Go into your C:\Windows folder and see if you have a folder named "Game" and a folder named "GameData" - if you do, then the installer flubbed up on you too. You just have to move those folders to the proper place (C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\) and then re-crack.

If you do not have those folders in your C:\Windows directory then it's not the manual patch that messed yours up. Your registry looks fine at a quick glance. You should try doing the Ultimate Fix again. The file sizes and dates of the crack and the stock files are the same so I can't tell if those are the cracked files or not from just the screenshot.

If re-doing the ultimate fix doesn't fix it for you then check back in for a new version of the Registry Helper. I'm working on it right now and hope to have an update available within a couple hours.

The Game and GameData files weren't in my Windows folder.

I redid the Ultimate fix and again, before and after patching, everything from katy perry up is greyed out, then after the crack is applied I get the error shown in the first picture.

I'll await your registry helper update and see if that doesn't do the trick.

If it did, could you paste another export of your registry please? I'm wondering if it added values for Katy Perry's - it shouldn't, I didn't change anything with it that would've modified that, but you never know unless you're shown.

looks like it did add some values for Katy Perry, which I can install if you think it would help anything. Looks like there's also two entries for 70s 80s 90s.

Yep on both accounts. The damn commas in the name screw with things a bit. If you want a quick fix, delete the Katy Perry tree and the 70s etc tree that does NOT have commas. That should get you up and running... I hope.

After you do that, if you do it, the red X will reappear beside 70s etc Stuff in the Registry Helper. Ignore it.
