Crashing.[SOLVED]
I tried basically everything in the "The Sims 3 crashes / freezes to Desktop fix." but to no avail. When I make a new world, it lets me play for about 3-5 hours straight, but then it starts crashing every 20 or so minutes, getting progressively worse and eventually only letting me play for about 5 minutes. I have all ep's and sp's except Katy Perry and 70's 80's & 90's, all from here but the basegame and pets (basegame bought on steam, then transferred to origin. Pets is the CD)
I do have some Nraas mods and CC, but even with those removed and taking out the game folder it crashed after a bit. I also downloaded the Crash Log Analyzer and it said "Insufficent Graphics Capability" Which is weird because my laptop is somewhat new (two years old) and I passed the "Can You Run It?" test
I really don't know what is making my game crash so some help would be greatly appreciated. I also put in my computers whatnots if you think that will help.
Processor- Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHZ
Ram-6.00GB (It says on the OS (C:) I have 41.6 out of 279)
64-bit Operating System
*Derp, forgot to put that I have windows 7*

Re: Crashing.[SOLVED]
What if you save every half an hour or so, and stop playing after a couple hours, before it crashes, to give your computer a break? Then after a half an hour you can try to go back to playing. Sometimes computers, especially laptops, have issues with continuously playing the sims for very long, but usually if you give it a break to cool down and rest for a bit, it goes back to normal.

Re: Crashing.[SOLVED]
Tainted: I had the same problem, but turned out that my video card installed a beta instead of the normal updates. You may want to check that. Also, Nraas has a MOD called Saver that will automatically prompt you to save every so often (I think about every 30 minutes), this may help with what invaildusername was suggesting??

Re: Crashing.[SOLVED]
I have the saver mod already thanks though. I changed the timer to save every 20 minutes, but my game crashes before it will tell me to save. How did you fix your video card problem? I'm not very good with computers.

Re: Crashing.[SOLVED]
I had to roll back the driver from the BETA driver that was automaticlly installed. I have a Nvidia card, which I can access the setting from the control panel.

Hmm. I took a look and this is what happened. Roll back is grayed out. http: // farm9.staticflickr. com/8077/8425664158_7cab4a3a26.jpg

Let's see. . . go to the Nvidia DOT com home page. Click on DRIVERS and then select ALL NVIDIA DRIVERS.
You can do one of 2 things:
1
OPTION 1: Use the pull downs to select what best describe your system and card. If I viewed the pic correctly:
PRODUCT TYPE: GeForce
PRODUCT SERIES: GT 540M (But you will have to select 500M)
OPERATING SYSTEM: Self explainatory
LANGUAGE: Self explainatory
OR 2
OPTION 2: Click on "GRAPHICS DRIVERS" and it will search your PC for you. (This one doesn't work for me, I have to use Option 1).
Either way, it should give you a list of drivers. I have a GT 520 (1 GB) card and the driver is up to 310.90, but there's a beta that takes it to 313.95 (which messed things up for me).
EDIT: Another source of your crashes could be that your notebook (assuming due to the ID of the card) is getting overheated?? Do you use a chill pad of sorts under the notebook?

Re: Crashing.[SOLVED]
I'm not sure then? You have the current driver. The only thing I would suggest is to take out your entire MOD folder (drag to desktop), clear your cache files, wouldn't hurt to reboot the PC, and try the game once more. If your game still crashes it could be hardware related? If the game does not crash, then it was MOD related.

Re: Crashing.[SOLVED]
Wasn't the mods I took a break between playing like invalidusername said and was able to play for an hour (not including the break)
I think I might save up and get an actual computer soon

Re: Crashing.[SOLVED]
same here.. doing fine leveling my sims skills and stuffs then suddenly it closes.. i mean without errors or pop-up messages why or what went wrong.. the game just shut down itself
i was planning to report it but my husband told me to run the game as administrator.. and it worked!! no more crashing well i don't know if you already tried this one.. just suggesting and hoping that this works for you as well

Re: Crashing.[SOLVED]
I'm currently testing to see if running it as admin will help. I also went out and bought a cooling pad
//EDIT
Didn't work. I'm going to try Gamebooster.
