Sims learn skills too fast!

At first I thought it was normal, given the fact that my sim was
artistic, and the first skills she learned were painting and guitar,
(but still, at a ridiculous speed), but then, when she was trying to
learn how to drive, well, the car wasn't even moving yet and she had
learned one skill already! The whole process took less than half a
minute (at speed one in the game). Is this because of patch 1.50? Either
way, somebody, please, help me!!!

well you can try to see if you create a new sim with the same traits ,if that sim has the same problem if not,then it is only that sim.or save firts new save game then leave your sim and pick one of the sim in the city and see if it has the same problem.

Do you have any Mods or Custom Content?

So I created another sim with the same traits, and had her play the guitar, and she seemed to increase the skill at normal speed, (maybe still a little bit too fast but nothing compared to the craziness before and it might be just me being completely paranoid), and the same way goes for the driving skill, too.
But the problem persists in my household so... any solutions? I have nointro.package and nobuildsparkle.package and errortrap, and the store fixes, of course...

Did you give your Sim any special potions or something? Is he/she a werewolf?

Well, her aunt is a genius, so unless that was somehow passed on in a weird way, I don' t know... She is human, didn't take any potions, and she hasn't got any lifetime rewards or anything. She still has her imaginary friend in her inventory, though. I know it sounds crazy but , maybe that's the problem?

I don't know actually, lol. I don't know in-game stuff like that, just suggesting things I remember from the past.

It turns out that it doesn't affect just that one sim, but all th sims in my household. This is like the most annoying glitch I've ever had, and I have no idea where it could've come from...

that is what i ment to say,pick a other sim in your saved game and see if they had it too,but yeah a weird and rare glitch,never had it,started all over?

So I went into edit town and picked a random household... Everything is just fine! I really don't know how to solve this problem...

Wait I have the same issue too. The skill are learned too fast. It is double plus when my sims are learning skills. That is too weird

well i have found out that ea have twitch the learning skills a little, when you have a young adult from 0 days will learn skills much faster then a normall adult and elderly, i don`t have a teen in my family,so not really know if the teen would learn even faster then the young adult. but at the moment i don`t have a solution for the problem

The problem is, my sims cannot get to work (acrobat gigs and singer gigs) because there is something obstructing them. However, there is actually nothing that is obstructing and therefore, seriously I think it is a problem too!

Yes, yes, yes, the double plus thingy for me too, every single time! It has to be a glitch, I mean my sim didn't even get to finish four medium paintings and she was level 7 already... But I solved the problem, kinda. I just moved them to Bridgeport (they were in Riverview) and so far, it seems to work. I moved them without the house, because I initially tried to move the house to another lot in Riverview, but it didn't work, at all. So, I really hope this doesn't happen to me again, especially with university life coming out so soon. It would be a total disaster!

Well, not really. The double plus is gone , but the skill learning still speeds like crazy. Not as bad as before, but certainly not at normal speed. I really need a solution for this.

i think it has to do with university,when i started a sim on aurora,he also double speed learning,but when i did send him to uni,the learning skill went back to normall

It would be great if this happens to me, too, 'cause I'm planning on sending my sim to college as soon as possible, (even though she didn't do so well at her aptitude test, LOL), but I wonder if this really fixes the problem. I mean, I don't want to go back to the home town and have the madness starting all over again. Or create a new family and have the same problem...

I've just registered to tell you about my in-game problem. My young adults learn skills superfast too, but my little children don't learn at all. Their progress bar stops in the middle (more or less) and they dont' learn to walk or talk. I'm sure it happend after the installing of the latest EP. It's really annoying.
PS. I don't have any mods, just the g4tw games.

If you had no other issues, there are mods available that slow down learning, for people that dislike how fast even the normal speed is. Maybe one of those could help you out? If you do think so, I'd be glad to grab the variant of the speed learning mod I use.

In my case, the main problem isn't the fact, that Sims are learnig too fast (I could live with that ), but the toddlers not learning at all. There is no "plus" over the progressbar, when their parents are trying to teach them how to walk or talk.

Well, my sim went to university, and everything was back to normal- finally! But she got her degree and went home and the skill learning is glitched, yet again! Aaargh! In university town everything is fine, but once I go home, it just starts all over! Will this ever be fixed?
