Where is the game directory?

Got everything pretty much up until where I need to put the TS3 into the game directory>bin or whatever. Where am I supposed to find this? I'm on Windows 8 by the way.
A few other things, during download it only asked for one disk (the disk 1 which I mounted earlier) and the registration code. That and I opened it up prior to realizing I hadn't done the TS3 file thing with the #crack folder and it told me I had a non-final unauthorized copy of the sims. Are cops gonna come knocking on my door or something? x3
