How to open the cheat box in The Sims3 base game?

I tried to open the cheat box in The sims3 bt pressing Ctrl+shift+c but it won't appear so i could write the cheat!! please help?!

Hello,
Well, that's the only shortcut to open the console, as far as I know.
Are you sure you're pressing the correct keys, using the United States (International) keyboard layout? (Not sure if that makes any difference, but it's worth trying)

yes, actually it's not me it's a friend of mine she keeps pressing ctrl+shift+c nd it doesn't is there another way

If I'm right for Windows Vista you have to press [CTRL] + [Shift] + [Windows button] + [C].
