Problem with fix? Empty Problem with fix?

Post by Guest Fri 08 Nov 2013, 02:14

Hello! I just registered because I've always found answers for my problems on this website so I didn't feel the need to register but today I didn't find an answer for my question. So here's my problem: I have the sims 3 (retail version) and i've always had that 'the sims 3 stopped working' problem and also the error 16, error 12, whenever I tried to save. But then I installed late night, seasons, pets, and ambitions, and the game asked me for the cd and because I don't have them I installed the ultimate fix available for download on this website. But the game kept crashing so I came back on this website and searched for some more help and I found this: Open the Command Prompt with administrative rights.
Open Start.
Open Programs.
Open Acessories.
Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
Type the following and hit enter:
If you have 3072 MB of RAM installed: bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 2560
If you have 4096 MB of RAM installed: bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 3072
Close the command prompt and restart your computer.
In case of trouble
Repeat the above steps but use the following command instead: bcdedit /deletevalue IncreaseUserVA.

I have a 32-bit version of Windows and I have 3072 MB of RAM so I did the first one, and then I tried to play and it didn't crash anymore, but today I was playing the sims again and it crashed once again. So I'm wondering if this is something I have to do every time I play or is it supposed to be permanent. Thanks!!

Error 12 is a nasty problem which can be solved by this guide: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t4523-the-sims-3-save-errors-fix-error-code-12-13-15-16-updated-24-11-2012

You can also have a look at this guide: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t14129-tips-for-saving-your-corrupted-saves-including-error-12

Other than that, do you have any mods/Custom Content installed?

You should clear these files everytime you start the game:

Create-a-Sim CacheCasPartCache.package
Build/Buy mode cachecompositorCache.package
Mod or custom content cachescriptCache.package
New Sims and skin cachesimCompositorCache.package
Simport-related (maybe?) and other social data, if you use the wall to integrate with your MyPage on thesims3.com sitesocialCache.package
files inside the folder "Thumbnails"*.package
pictures inside the folder "FeaturedItems"thumb_*.png
files inside DCCache (not all)missingdeps.idx & dcc.ent
files that end with .bin inside the folder "Downloads" and "SigsCache"*.bin
A file that is created once you download a Sim/Pet (inside the folder "SavedSims")Downloadedsims.index
All of the files inside the folder "WorldCaches" and "IGACache", and all the files inside the folder "DCCache" except ccmerged.package/
