Problems downloading new 1.67 update. [SOLVED]

Hi I've had all my sims 3 games and expansions playing with no problems until the 1.67 update. Whenever I tried to update it would tell me that I was in the wrong region?? I figured that I just needed to download the latest Ultimate fix for 1.67, but still after applying it and following every single step several times I keep getting the same error when trying to update. Can you help me pleeease?

Hi there,try using the manual patch which can be downloaded here http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/TS3_1.67.2.0240xx_update.exe try it.

hi guys i have a huge problem.i have only the base game without any expansions.today i tried to update my version to 1.67 via your manual patch. when i went to start the game it appears something like <> ,also i forget to mention thai i have download the ultimate fix today...what can i do???sorry for the bad english.
