The Sims 4 announced!
Hello Sims fans!
I just read the news myself.
This was posted earlier today, and its follow-up here. This is rather useless for now, unless you can read Simlish.
Any thoughts? Doubts? Anticipations? Please share.

The Sims 4 Announced
New title will allow for offline play.
by Andrew Goldfarb
May 6, 2013
EA has announced The Sims 4. According to EA’s official site, The Sims 4
will be released in 2014 and will be available on both PC and Mac. EA
has confirmed to IGN that the title will allow for "single-player and
offline" play.
“The Sims franchise is fueled by the passion and creativity of its
millions of fans around the world,” EA wrote. “Their continued devotion
to the franchise ignites the fire of creativity of the team at The Sims
Studio, driving them to continually improve and innovate on one of the
world’s most successful simulation game that has sold more than 150
million copies worldwide.”
EA reports that more information on The Sims 4 will be released later today.

I'm so happy right now!! I've been playing The Sims since I was a child, and even when I went to other people's houses I played there because I didn't have a good computer at my house
Can't wait for EA to release some more info, including pics <3

Re: The Sims 4 announced!
Well... I have mix feelings about this... It's because if G4TW will make this downloadable (I know they will) I'm gonna have to give up my process in 3 and wait for this one... On the other hand, it could be better than 3. I'll still play The Sims 3 while waiting (of course all of us simmers will do that).
If I like the gameplay from a preview or trailer or something, I might just think about it.

IDK, EA were always more forgiving with The Sims than other games. I mean, they agreed to a delay of several months for The Sims 3... sure it wasn't enough but still.

Re: The Sims 4 announced!
Hell yeah! Well it was quite obvious that this would happen and that there is going to be a The Sims 4 game. If there is one thing I've learned it's that all the Sims rumors were/are true, and don't doubt them. As a long time Sims fan and collector I'm really excited for the upcoming game, sadly I don't think my PC will be able to handle the game therefore a new game needs a new PC . If you want some more info about The Sims 4 you can read about it here - - - >

Well I'm expecting that G4TW will have a tested and safe game for us to download and play? Right?

Re: The Sims 4 announced!
I will defenitely be unable to run TS4 on this PC
So unless I can build a new pc, I'm definitely sticking to TS3. And if I do build a new pc, it would be nice to at least play TS3 as it was meant to be played with all add-ons, and without lag.
If it's released on xbox 360, I may consider buying it for my xbox though, if I don't have a new pc yet. There's something quite relaxing about playing games from the comfort of my couch
If I do get a new pc, I'll simply add my tv as a 2nd monitor and I'll still be able to sit on the couch simming.

Re: The Sims 4 announced!
Now I'm curious what new features are going to be included in the Sims 4. More "realistic" social interactions ? More sophisticated careers ?
Or fewer bugs ? (lol). The Sims 3 is in my opinion, apart from the tons of bugs and glitches, a very nice game - in theory at least. I'm not sure if there are many possibilities to top the features of the Sims 3. And what's even more interesting: will EA manage, or even care to correct the majority of bugs of the Sims 3 before or around the time the Sims 4 is released ?

I think they're like: "Ah, why would we fix the bugs anyway? Games4theworld will take care of all the disappointed fans, man our (free) Support department and fix all the problems we create, so we can enjoy our free time and drink coffee all day long."Carlos G. wrote:And what's even more interesting: will EA manage, or even care to correct the majority of bugs of the Sims 3 before or around the time the Sims 4 is released ?

Re: The Sims 4 announced!
There are only two things I want from The Sims 4:
-Optimize it Maxis, please, we aren't made of money, and it's a PC game FFS
-NO REALISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111

Re: The Sims 4 announced!
Hmm. The Sims 4, huh? Well, besides the fact that I probably won't be able to run it, I'm really not sure if I'll want to play it. Each time they make a new full game, they add new things which are fun, but they often take something away from the previous game that I really enjoyed about it. I still know people that stick to The Sims 2 for PC (no one that does it for PS2 or anything, though) that don't like The Sims 3. I worry that soon, maybe not 4 but if they get to 5 or 6, everything I liked about The Sims when I first played it will be gone and there won't be anything left that I really like in it. There will still be good things about them, I'm sure, just maybe not worth playing for some of us.

Re: The Sims 4 announced!
I think it's too soon for Sims4, but I guess anything for that almighty dollar!
It would be nice that EA would not only fix all issues with sims3, but give sims3 a retirement time. Maybe wait 6 months when ALL the sims3 packs and expansions are done.
Not sure how true this is, but I read on Facebook that Sims3 will have either 1 or 2 more releases after the Island Paradise one next month.
Before my son got me into Sims3, I did play sims2 and remember when the 3rd installment was released. I do admit, from my perceptive, sims2 was far less buggy than the 3rd. I can only imagine the level of glitch the 4th installment has to offer?

Re: The Sims 4 announced!
It's too soon for the Sims 4, they are still making one more expansion pack for the Sims 3, I mean at least let us play the Sims 3 for a little longer before bringing out and announcing the Sims 4, we bought the game now let us play it! (maybe not all of us bought the game but still...). Also, where is the plumbob in the Sims 4 logo?!??!

You do realize it's been four years since The Sims 3 was released right? And five by the time The Sims 4 is out? And 11 expansions released? And god knows how many stuff packs? Some of us don't live forever, if you wanna keep playing this crappy game for a few more months nobody is stopping you, but that's no reason to delay the game for everybody come on -.-
Anyway just for the record, The Sims 3 was announced (well, teased) before Sims 2's last two expansions and stuff packs were released (just like The Sims 4), and The Sims 2 was announced before The Sims' last two expansions were released (again, just like The Sims 4). So we're basically arguing something that EA has been doing even before their darkest days, and from the series' start.

Re: The Sims 4 announced!
I guess it wouldn't be a crappy game if EA took the time to make it more stable before the launch of another series. Once Sims 4 is actually out, I would expect EA to make it as glitch free as possible too, but that's doubtful.TUN3R wrote:deblake60 wrote:I think it's too soon for Sims4

Also, for the record, the sims 3 (Crappy or not) (glitch free or not) was the only thing in the world that helped my Autistic son to better interact with everyone. When his Sims 3 glitches and messes up, his behaviors are off the chart. I wrote Lady Eldi a long letter thanking G4TW for their generous "donation" of providing the sims 3, which helped my son. I personally like Sims 2.
Just wanted you to know where I was coming from. I would like to see Sims 3 fixed for players like my son.

That's true. But three years to build a stable game is more than enough, and The Sims 4 has five. The chances of EA screwing up are high, but time isn't a factor here. If they screw up it will be because their staff isn't motivated, they are greedy with the budget, and they make stupid decisions in general.

I think he would have been fine with The Sims 2 as well, but I admit I don't know jack about autism. Anyway I'm just glad you thanked G4TW and not EA.

I can understand that, but I hope you too can understand the that if Maxis haven't fixed The Sims 3 till now, they never will. Whether it's their fault or EA's (or Black Box') doesn't really matter, the fact is that The Sims 4 doesn't change anything for The Sims 3.
Plus what are the odds that The Sims 4 will be worse than The Sims 3? I can't really imagine how it could be worse...
Scratch that, forgot about SimCity... But EA did say The Sims 4 will be a singleplayer game with offline support so there's that.
