Sims 3 Generations (corrupt or not properly installed) Empty Sims 3 Generations (corrupt or not properly installed)

So after following the first two steps to installing the Sims 3 (G4TW version), I tried step 3 by downloading the Generations EP. After downloading (also G4TW version) it I clicked on the setup. After clicking "Next" when the Install Wizard pops up, I'm hit with an error popup stating that "Setup has detected that The Sims™️3 is corrupt or not properly installed. Setup is unable to continue."

I definitely updated the base game to the current version. I have also updated Origin. I don't know what else to do. Please help!  Help 

P.S Sorry if I break any rules by posting this or did not try other obvious fixes, as I didn't want to mess up even more. Thanks in advance!

Can you try un-installing the base game and the re-boot the computer ? And then try re-installing the base game. Good luck !
