PLEASE HELP - installation.

Hey guys!

I am a new member on this website and I am really interested in downloading Sims 3 expansion packs. I've read the installation instructions and almost everything seems clear. But I'm curious, I already have purchased the base game a few years back so i just want to download expansion packs. In the instructions it says to download the base game first. Am i able to just skip this step and proceed with the following steps? Or do i need to uninstall my version and reinstall the one provided?

Hello and welcome to the forum @jessicashef !

It depends. Does that base game that you purchased need Origin, to run ? There are essentially 2 versions of the Sims 3 base game: the "older" one (on which our own pirated release is based) comes in the format of a DVD, and you can install and run the game without the need for Origin.

The "newer" Sims 3 base game needs Origin to run, and you must log into Origin too of course.

In case of the latter, I would suggest you "drop" that, and install the pirated base game of Sims 3 instead. Good luck for now, and do keep us posted if you like. Very Happy

Hey guys, so I'm currently installing The Sims 3 and for some reason the installation totally skipped the part where I am supposed to enter the key. Why would it do this? Will it still run normally?

If possible, always keep discussions (about the same game) in just one thread, unless you are told otherwise by a Moderator.

Concerning your current issue, if the installation simply skips the part where you need to enter the serial code, then so be it - and go on with the rest of the installation steps.

SO I downloaded and installed the Sims 3 complete collection. (finally figured out how to do that after about 3 hours). I followed the instructions but for some reason I can find Electronic Arts under the Program Files tab. Instead I have the folder located in my downloads. Is this not correct? I'm not able to start the game because when I pull up the launcher it states "PLEASE INSERT DISK" even though I've successfully installed all of the games. I'm at my wits end here Sad

Have you looked under C:\Program files(x86) ? Because that is the default install location of the game. And about the error, you must apply the 1.67 manual patch at first, and then apply the "Ultimate fix". That means, steps #2 and #5 from this guide here:

so I found the section and you're right it is there. I had followed those steps perfectly. I may have not placed the ultimate fix in the right area so I am going to try and place it in the correct place and I'll get back to you.
