Game not paused, but sims freeze
I downloaded Sims 4 a while back, and it worked perfectly. Today however, I installed the Get to work and Get together expansion packs, without installing the fix (as you said that downloading the Get together expansion would be enough). So I started the game, and it keeps freezing.
My sims would be doing an action, for example using the bathroom, and they would do it literally forever even after their bathroom usage bar thing is full. I tried to cancel the action, but the action on the action panel would freeze with an X on top, and my sim would continue doing whatever they're doing.
Also when they eat anything, they would "hold" the plate in their hand but when you look, there's nothing there, they're just holding air, and the plate is still on the table.
And for some reason, when i click on the chess table and click "Play", no action appears, its like i didn't click at all
Sometimes when I make them do an action, they would stand there for a very long time and i have to Resit the sim and make them do the action again, but nothing happens
So i decided to install the fix, and still nothing changed, my sims still freeze
please help, i don't want to reinstall the whole base game or something, i have a big sims family and most of them finished their aspirations, and some of them even died

Hello and welcome to the forum @ugarit,
Some users mentioned that problems with sim interactions are mostly caused by incompatible/outdated mods. So if you happen to have mods, please remove them all for the moment, and try your game again. Good luck !

Re: Game not paused, but sims freeze
Okay, so here's what happened,
I removed most CC from the mods folder, and all the houses that I have downloaded a while back as well from the Tray folder.
I tried playing the game again and still found some problems with the interactions. So I went back and deleted all mods except the ones that I made myself, but this time I didn't load the game again (I went to sleep and I said I'll try tomorrow).
So anyway the next day I didn't feel like dealing with the Sims 4 if it started acting up again, so I downloaded an expansion pack for Sims 3, (The university one, I had its files for a long time, and never installed it, so I said I'd give it a go instead) and I played that for about an hour.
Later on, I loaded my Sims 4 game, and EVERYTHING WAS GONE!!!
The family I created were gone, and the house that I spent a whole week on was gone, and literally everything I ever built/made was gone!
When the game loaded, it loaded like it was the first time I played it after installation, like it kept giving me tutorials, and the expansion packs & stuff popped up on the home page.
I don't know if mentioning the Sims 3 game was even relevant at all (I'm not very good with technical stuff) and I don't know what made my game delete everything.
I mean I should have backed up my files but if i'm being honest I have no idea how to do that.
I'm quite upset that I lost everything but on the bright side, The game works perfectly now, and I even got to keep the CC that I made myself so that's good.

I know that if you start Origin, then "everything can be gone". You are not supposed to run Origin alongside a pirated Sims 4. Make sure Origin is completely turned off.
Also, did you accidentally rename the folder "The Sims 4", located in Documents\Electronic Arts ? That could be an alternative option too. Anyhow, The Sims 3 should not affect your Sims 4 stuff.

Re: Game not paused, but sims freeze
No origin is off and I havent even opened it since I downloaded the Sims 4 Demo, but I just remembered that I moved the Sims 4 folder from the Electronic Arts folder and into the Documents I thought I might have misread the instructions when downloading the EP's where you said to move the Sims 4 from the EA folder into the Program Files x86 folder.
Is there a way to get my saves back? Like if I move the folder back to the Electronic Arts folder, do I get everything back? Again sorry if my questions are stupid, I'm new to these things

Move the installation folder of The Sims 4 (or the components that belong with it) back under Program files (x86) - don't move it under Electronic Arts though. But that may be difficult if you merged those folders together, in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4.
If you look at that location, you should still see a folder named "saves" though. Please COPY that folder into a safe location. Then, depending on how your "moving of folders" goes, you should consider starting afresh, if you feel you cannot do it (properly).

Just wanted to check back, did you manage to sort the problem out (without re-installing) ? If so, how did it go ?
