So i downloaded the base game and get to work. I was trying to use a mod but it says the game has to be atleast 1.9 for it to work but my game is only at 1.5. So I downloaded the ultimate fix with 1gb. I'm not interested in downloading the Get Together EP so i didnt download the complete ultimate fix. So i copied the files in the sims 4 folder on program files. When i run the game it takes half an hour to load just to get to the menu there was a window that said that my expansion pack was not installed completely and it may take a while so i click okay. Then when i loaded my game it stopped working. So i restarted the game but now im stuck on loading screen when i loaded my game. Is theres something wrong with what i did or is there any other way to update my game without downloading get together?

Hello and welcome to the forum @sheana25,


Due to the way how The Sims 4 works technically, it appears you cannot 'separate' the DLC anymore, from the base game. Which is the reason why you are getting the glitch when applying the update-only-version of the Ultimate fix.

Sadly, this game works entirely different than The Sims 2 & The Sims 3. Maybe e can do something about it in the future, but for now, I'm afraid you will need to download & install "Get together". Followed by the hotfix here.
