No Town In Sims 3, "New Game" greys out

PS: I only have the Katy Perry Sweet Treats expansion pack and that makes me able to open the Sims 3.

Update: Failed. I'm on the latest update of the Sims 3 and I've applied the fix twice (installed it twice) and still no avail. I also get this prompt before the program starts. Something about the modification not on the same version as the game I guess? Does it have something to do with the towns not appearing?

I changed your post's font color from black to white. Please keep in mind that selecting a dark font color doesn't work on here, given the dark background color of the forum.   That said, the problem could point to a defective installation of the game. Maybe you had the game before, tried uninstalling it, but you didn't remove it properly. I've seen cases like that in the past.
