The Sims 2: Apartement Life "Insert Disc" Empty The Sims 2: Apartement Life "Insert Disc"

Post by Guest Thu 05 Jan 2017, 11:12

Greetings!

First, I would like to say thank you so much to Games4theworld Admins for giving me all the games I need. But I need your help because I kinda losing my hopes right now...

I've followed all of the instruction from https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t21964-please-insert-disk-number-1-during-the-sims-2-installation-fix. It worked when I got the same problem on The Sims 2: University Life. I tried to applied it to The Sims 2: Apartement Life problem, but I'm still getting the same Insert Disc problem. I didn't install it from the .rar file, I've extracted all the folders to the desktop.

Is there something wrong that I did? Can you guys please kindly help me? I'm sorry for any error in my English. Thanks!

Did you install it via Autorun.exe ?

I saw you e-mailed me, but the problem you described is different than the one from your opening post here. Can you give us an update on what exactly is happening on your end? Smile

Hi! I'm sorry for not giving this one an update.
I tried to run the AutoRun from the WinRar file instead and it worked! But now I'm facing a different problem which I've told you in the email.

//EDIT

Greetings!

I've installed The Sims 2 from the base until the Happy Holiday Stuff. The problem started when I tried to install the H&M Fashion Stuff. It said that the update was failed or something and the installation has to terminated. It's happend until the Mansion and Garden Stuff too.

I've extracted all the subfolders using WinRAR to Desktop and installed the apps AutoRun. Can you please help me with this problem? Thanks!

I copied/pasted the text of your e-mail here, for the future please try including it in your Forum posts, especially if there are new developments. Smile

As for the game, I myself test-installed the game almost a dozen times before release, and Admin tested it also a few times. The torrent is basically working, and I think that a lot of these problems are because of some file/folder-permission errors, or because of some other (small) user error. You are normally not supposed to run the autorun.exe from within the .RAR file, but OK. I'm only mentioning this because I'm surprised about these difficulties.  Shocked

What exactly is the wording of the error you get with the H&M Fashion stuff?

If you can't bypass the error, have a look at this here:
http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Uninstall#Remove_Leftover_Program_Data

Don't uninstall everything though; only focus on the folders & registry entries for "H&M Fashion Stuff". Delete those leftover entries and try installing the DLC again. Take your time, and good luck!

DRIt starts with: "This Product will now ensure that your existing installation is up to date." Then I click either "OK" or the X red button. After that: "The update process did not complete succesfully. Installation will now terminate." And then it starts to roll back the installation progress bar until 0%...
Now, I'll try to remove the leftover like you suggest and hopefully it'll works! I'll keep you update.

//UPDATE

I can't even find the H&M Stuff folder in every place the website told me to search. Maybe it's because it wasn't installed properly at the first place...

Do you still have the torrent (I mean the .rar file of the complete TS2) running as "seeding" in your torrent client? Right-click on it and choose STOP. Then right-click again and choose "force re-check" and wait a while. When the check is complete, please re-extract again with WinRAR, all contents of the .rar into anotehr fresh folder.

Then try installing again.
