The Sims 4 Toddlers (& Vampires) !
I feel like there is a conflict here. I see that people saying attention to sims frenchise is dying - if it is dying why would EA put money into Denuvo to protect Sims and not for the base game but for the patches? When after Get together - which had it's opening time for big sales anyway- it haven't even been cracked. Doesn't make much sense to me. Plus I would thought cracking something denuvo protected gives reputation to the group who does it first. Then why aren't they racing to be the one to crack it after all most of them do it for fun and bragging rights
I for one don't care for sims 4 that much. I get bored from it after 2 days - new packs never really changed that and I don't think these packs are gonna change it.
I think the reason -even though we all know we are gonna get bored from it- why we want to have the new stuff right away or have them eventually is capitalism impacted to our brains
We want to consume and consume and consume...
Sorry - might've gone a bit off topic up there

Re: The Sims 4 Toddlers (& Vampires) !
As long as we don't buy the game, prices will go down for the original games and in the end Electronic Arts will make it easier to crack a new DLC.
Bear in mind that playing cracked games will contribute to other people buying the legal stuff.
When nobody play the game it gets no advertising.
Something simular happened to the Sims 2.
The base game, University and Nightlife were very difficult to crack and then, all of a sudden, Open for Business came out and from then on it was extremely simple to crack. What ? , you did not even needed a crack, a Poweriso copy would be enough.
Also for the Sims 3, a crack was not needed, Poweriso did the trick.
With Sims 4 (apart from the base game) we no longer can go to the shop and buy a CD/DVD, no everything must go via Origin and that makes cracking the game more complicated.
I'm sure Electronic Arts will - at least for The Sims 4 - make things easier in the long run.
It is ridiculous to fork out money for the same games over and over again.
Apart from the graphics and some gameplay, what is the difference between Sims 1,2,3 and 4 ?
It's all about a family, build a house, look after their needs.
The only real difference is that in the Sims-1 you really had to work on it as there were hardly any cheats (apart from the Magic Mirror and the money-cheat) and with all other versions there were enough cheats to start your game in the morning, keep it running, go shopping, go to work or whatever, and on your return home you could continue the game.
I'm sorry to state that for this "electronic doll house" I personally wouldn't pay a penny. Having my own Dutch forum obliges me however to keep up on the developments of the various games.
But in my opinion The Sims (Sims-1) is still the best game.

I hate that about the new games - everything has to be online. I like having a physical copy of the game I play. I hate in Sims 4 you have to have an origin account to play. It's the reason why my Sims 3 and Sims 2 legit and Sims 4 is pirated.

Re: The Sims 4 Toddlers (& Vampires) !
The good thing about Denuvo is that a game using its latest version has already been cracked. I remember reading about it on Friday.
I agree that piracy can help games. I've was hesitant to buy TS4 because of how split the community has been about it. After getting to play it for free I've decided that I love it and will be buying all of the EPs, GPs, and SPs (not all at once but maybe a few each month) Two friends of mine bought it too after I told them I liked it, and another who hadn't played in a year picked it up again (and bought an EP along with a GP)
Don't think that The Sims franchise is dying either. TS4 has sold almost as many copies as TS2 and it hasn't been out for long. The tumblr and youtube scenes are also quite lively. I have noticed though that fansites that used to be really popular are no longer getting the same amount of traffic.

Of course it would be 'nice' if we all had more information about the status of cracking. Just in the same way as it would be nice (for doubtlessly quite a lot of people out there) to learn about the real-life identities of individual G4TW team members. Or in general people involved in pirating stuff.
In case the message wasn't clear enough already, having an 'official' communication channel only gives haters an additional avenue, to track down and attack you. The haters includes law enforcement as well, btw. If you yourself were a cracker, would you be aware of the risks involved in communicating through an official channel?
bloodsport wrote:The tumblr and youtube scenes are also quite lively. I have noticed though that fansites that used to be really popular are no longer getting the same amount of traffic.
The likes of Tumblr and YouTube are primarily about self-marketing & self-expression/individualism, which is in line with the general trend of social media popularity these days. Forums & discussion platforms are boring: too many rules, and why interact with other people when you can use the same time "more effectively" to self-market yourself and your very own platform?
Another aspect that is especially apparent with YouTube is that a lot of people seem to be thinking you can make lots of money off of it, seeing that their idols (famous YouTubers with a large following entourage) do the same. Only very few people realize though that in reality, things are a bit more difficult.
Make no mistake, if that is what people like to do, or believe in, then so be it. Let's also not forget that before the days of widespread internet, you had people making a living off of chess, backgammon, poker, bridge, etc. You still have those people today, but thanks to the media attention, YouTubers tend to be more often in the spotlight.

Personally, I still like TS3 the best. Aging, open world and, with the right mods, very decent progression. Something that all other titles are lacking, in my opinion.
Having said that, the original "The Sims" was by far the most challenging one, especially when starting out with a new sim or family.

Re: The Sims 4 Toddlers (& Vampires) !
I agree with ya bout the sims3. I'm currently playing it from origin with most packs up to showtime cause thats when i lost my income, and i gotta say i'm having far more fun with just those than i do playing sims 4 with all cracked versions. and ive played sims 3 since it came out and i'm still not bored. you can see my game tracked hours below, and those numbers only reflect time going back to possibly the start of the sims 4 era if not less. there are rediculous amounts of sims 3 hours i played before i even started using a game tracker. i wouldnt be surprised if it was 4,000+ game hours.Ɛɗιη wrote:Tarac wrote:

I recently revisited the sims 1 complete collection but couldnt get into it. didnt like the camera angles or the fact that sims needs decay at a rate of full to depleted in like 5 minutes. lol
maybe im exagerating, but needs do decay excrutiatingly fast, too fast for me.
I still love sims 2, will dust it off from time to time.

I don't mean to say you're lying but (at least in my country) I remember having seen some bundle packs and some EP's (not really the GPs or SPs), the physical copies, in a store that sells games, among other things. Maybe it's a national/cultural thing? People here still buy a lot of things physical. Especially due to skepticism of "money" safety and "information safety" for online purchases... (the following exist in physical copy - unless it's one of those: buy here a Thing that's not really the disc but like a code you can redeem and then actually get the thing but it's digital - Pack: Vampires, Kids Stuff, Backyard City Living, Get to Work; Get Together; pack: Outdoor, Cool Kitchen, Spooky Stuff; Base Game, obv (both the Deluxe and Normal edition); Pack: Dine Out, Movie Hangout, Romantic Garden. Idk if that's all of the packs and too lazy to check. It would cost me 249,93 to get all of em and noooo thank youuuuu. I honestly don't get why the games are so expensive even online. They don't have packaging or anything. Like... They could cut prices WAAAAAAAAY down but wtv.
Not having the toddlers which tbh is rl the one thing I want out of this update/new games is kinda boring but oh well, makes me play less and study more.

Please don't
Things have simply changed. Games were much easier to crack before. There's probably a good reason for us to be waiting this long. That we don't know the reason, doesn't make it less so.

Tarac's right.
You have those "discs" available in some retail outlets, also for The Sims 4, but you still need to activate the (included) serial number on Origin. Whereas in earlier times (TS1, TS2, TS3) you had the possibility to insert a physical disc, use a NoCD-crack or even a virtual disc image, you do NOT have that possibility anymore with TS4. Indeed everything now goes through Origin. You cannot simply insert your bought TS4 DVD, because the included serial number is unique and cannot be readily shared. You could share your Origin login-credentials, but in general I personally can't recommend it.
The fact that discs seem to be still available only signifies to me that they ("the powers that be") are attempting to keep jobs. Whether it's the one or two persons operating the machines that create those Sims 4 DVDs, or the retail employees. I suppose it's still better than nothing, but it may be possible that at some point in the future, there may be fewer of these discs.
Note that you do not even need those Sims 4 discs to install the game. All you need is to do is either purchase a serial number and register it on Origin, or buy directly from the Origin store. I could very well imagine that these "Sims 4 discs" are produced at an economic loss (for EA), but no worries. They will get the money back through overpriced TS4 DLCs.

Yeah, that's what I reckoned.
I mean, the explanation that makes the most sense and talking to a lot of people, in my country it's not usual to buy stuff online. Most people don't like putting their bank info online and are too lazy/don't like to make paypals or other accounts (I think there's a my bank thing). Also, people who buy the game here fall within the 12-20 yo range with a more dense population in between 12-15/16 and they don't have bank accounts. Usually fam members give cash to kids and they go and buy something so it's easier to get stuff in stores in that age group. I guess that might be an explanation and it's one that makes the most sense to me.

I would say that owning the physical disk has advantages if you don't get unlimited use of the internet. I know that, in some countries, you would be limited to a certain amount of data a month. That would explain buying those games on disk rather than online, because you would probably reach your limit fairly quickly if you had to download today's games.

Happy to say i managed to get spa day yesterday. my collection now entails all EP's and GP's. i just dont have any stuff packs as of yet.
and though i tend to use cracked games, i still will always try and buy as much as i can when it comes to the sims games. because atleast i know i'm doing my part to try to keep that game franchise alive. we've already seen EA crush alot of Maxis studios and The sims is the one franchise of all games that i dont want to see that happen too.
i wont be one of those gimme gimme gimme people who then get mad and wonder why the game flopped.

Re: The Sims 4 Toddlers (& Vampires) !
Hello everybody! New here, but have been lurking for over a year. Had to make an account because all this talk of sims using denuvo or the scene being payed not to crack, c'mon guys, this is getting tired...
The Sims 4 DOES NOT USE DENUVO. Not on the base game, not on the following expansion or game packs. One person wonders if the reason why it's taking so long for an update "it's denuvo?" and next we have people saying it as if its a fact.
Here's the list of known games using denuvo: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Metalreflectslime/sandbox
Scene is not being bribed either, that's unfounded rumour.
The reason why is taking so long is because there are other games that are a priority to the team cracking it. Just as simple as that. It will get cracked when, and if, they feel like it.
I'm thankful for the work the team has put into cracking it, as well as the people here on the forum that has made it simple and easy to install for all of us, and best of all, FREE. So I'll wait as long as it takes.
Again: NO DENUVO and NO BRIBES. Put these silly rumours to rest, please.

Re: The Sims 4 Toddlers (& Vampires) !
Yup, there's nothing official about the Denuvo rumor. Just speculation.
And the rumor that EA is bribing scene groups is just ridiculous.
The reason why get a new repack only twice per year or so, is because they are waiting for the game to have enough content. They won't do a new cracked version just cause a new update and stuff pack came out. Since another gaming pack is around the corner, we probably won't get the cracked version till sometime in June/July.
Sims 4 is popular and demanded, but reloaded won't release a new cracked version just because there are a few new updates. I think it's rather obvious by now.

Re: The Sims 4 Toddlers (& Vampires) !
I came here to post exactly what Gabriella posted. Im completely tired of waiting for the cracks and decided to turn to something that doesnt disappoint me everytime I sound like a spoiled child and thats right. We got everything for free and just by waiting. But the fact that the scene wont tell anything is pretty upsetting.
Im grateful for the previous cracks (both sims 3 and 4) and because of my principles, im not going to buy anything from EA if I can help it. Sims 4 has been a completely slap in the face and they dont have consumer oriented approach at all. They just want the money and hope the fools fall victim everytime.
Didnt mean this to be such a rant, im just kinda sad I guess I will download the new crack when it comes (if i notice it) but i wont come to check anymore so often. Hope the forum wont die because of this. xo
