Now Mansion and Garden will not install Empty Now Mansion and Garden will not install

Hi! 

I posted earlier about Apartment life not updating, so I completely uninstalled the game, restarted my computer, then did it again, got the same error, so i skipped the patches. 
All went well until I've gotten to Mansion and Garden. This is the error i get "error during update installation. you may need to uninstall and reinstall The Sims 2 Apartment Life. Please make sure you backup your saved games first."


I have followed the guide to a T (aside from the Apartment life patches), so I don't get what could have gone wrong.


Any ideas on what to do?
