sims 4 crashing

Okay, so I have looked as much as I can in the forums and I am still super lost...

I followed all the instructions, to the T, and loading up the game is fine.. well I have to load up in 32 as 64 doesn't work.
Then I make a family, pick a location and they have disappeared! 
Then I try to make a new family and they keep disappearing. 
I try to move into a property (without a family) and the whole game crashes.

HELP?! I am at my wits end.. Forums, etc confuse me and I can't find anything to answer this (or maybe I have seen it, but it confuses me more)

What's your operating system? Is it 32 or 64 bit?

What version do you have installed? Which DLCs do you have installed?

Do you use mods/CC?

I have all the DLCs installed from the site and whatever version is on here (sorry, n00b here).

Okay, so last DLC you have is Cats & Dogs.

Delete files listed as "unknown" and start the game again. And run TS4_x64.exe because starting with Cats & Dogs minimal requirements say 64-bit os. It will crash if you run it with TS4.exe.

So go through all the files and delete anything that says unknown?

IDK what you did to the report but it should look like this:

Unknown files:

Just delete those files.

Okay I deleted them.. I am now loading up the game

What was my issue? Just obsolete files?

Yup. You missed the step from the guide where it tells you to rename/delete "Game" folder before applying next update/DLCs.
