Origin deleted The Sims 4 on D:/ Empty Origin deleted The Sims 4 on D:/

Coming here for a little bit of advice and also to warn anyone who may be thinking about doing the same as me.

So I've been using Fitgirl/G4TW Sims 4 and it was on my D:/Games/EA/TheSims4. I recently bought Sims4 on sale and after looking through a variety of threads to make sure the two versions wouldn't conflict and my save games would be left intact, I created a new user (user #2) on Windows for the purpose of keeping the save files separate. (Just in case I also renamed the save game folder on user #1). Anyway, I installed origin and proceeded to download my legit copy of Sims 4. It wanted me to install to C:/ but I prefer having all my games on D:/ since there is more space there. So I pointed it to D:/Games/Origin (I created the Origin folder). I thought everything was going swimmingly until I realised after it had installed the legit copy of the sims that it had also removed (without any warning whatsoever) the WHOLE of the Electronic Arts folder... It's no where to be found on my PC.

Thankfully my saved game folder is still in user #1 documents folder, but now I'm going to have to reinstall the other version of the sims, and was wondering is there anything I need to do in particular so this kinda thing doesn't happen again? Should I perhaps uninstall and reinstall the legit copy but let it go onto C: like it wanted to and then install the repack onto D:? Or will it be safe enough to put both on D:?

Thank you in advance for your help. I really appreciate it!

Welcome to the Forum,

Maybe you made a mistake when choosing an install location for the Origin game. I can tell from experience though, that this whole thing with "choosing a custom install location for Origin games" oftentimes, for some reason, doesn't work out well in the end.

I have both my Origin & G4TW Sims stuff on C: drive (in separate file paths), and they function independently of each other.

One tip, though I don't know if it makes a big difference. But maybe don't use any variation of "EA" or "Electronic Arts" as folders for your cracked stuff. If you need to re-install from scratch there is an all-in-one here:

Not sure what else to say. I have my G4TW copy on C:\Program Files\The Sims 4. The Origin stuff is located on C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\. Can't say I noticed issues with that setup. Maybe try doing a D:\Origin\The Sims 4 for your legal game, and D:\G4TW or whatever, for your G4TW stuff.

I recall I had my G4TW copy, originally under a different location, also under C:\Program Files (x86). And whenever an Origin-update was downloaded, it wanted to "update" the G4TW version as well. Probably to ruin it. So I put my two versions of TS4 on completely different file paths, under the C: drive.

Good luck!
