Can't enable mods.

I recently download the sims 4 from your website.
I tried to install some costume content but it seems my game doens't have the "Enable mods and costume content" option.
(Language is Dutch)
It does show a list with costume content when Istart my game but it doesnt show up in the game once I play.
I also checked the mods folder and the resource.cfg file is in the folder.

I hope you guys know why i'm missing the opties to enable it. maybe i'm doing something wrong.

Hope you guys can help!

Hello @daniiellex and welcome to the G4TW Forums,

That sounds familiar; I believe you have to look for an option that says "Restore Defaults". See this here:
https://www.games4theworld.club/t30806-unable-to-enable-cc-and-script-mods-fix

After that, you will probably have to re-do all of your other settings, like Graphics. Good luck for now though!

Hello @daniiellex and welcome to the G4TW Forums,

That sounds familiar; I believe you have to look for an option that says "Restore Defaults". See this here:

I've tried to follow these steps but I still don't get the option. its just not there...
I can only enable scriptmodifications.

Did you consider the possibility, that one of your current mods/CC is causing the problem? Have you tried running the game completely without mods and CC? Then see if the option is still there. If that doesn't work, try running your game through anadius's validator program here:
https://anadius.github.io/sims-4-tools/validator.html

Un-check the box that says "Quick scan", and select your install directory for The Sims 4. Let the program do its work, and then copy-paste the results ("Forum"), into a reply on here. Good luck for the moment!

Did you consider the possibility, that one of your current mods/CC is causing the problem? Have you tried running the game completely without mods and CC? Then see if the option is still there. If that doesn't work, try running your game through anadius's validator program here:

Un-check the box that says "Quick scan", and select your install directory for The Sims 4. Let the program do its work, and then copy-paste the results ("Forum"), into a reply on here. Good luck for the moment!

We tried without mods and the deleted mods that were a problem.
We also did the scan.. posted it in my other post above this one..

Well, then let me say that according to anadius's validator, your game installation is quite a mess. I would be highly surprised if the game is playable at all! Can I offer that you familiarize yourself with the new format here? And yes, I'm afraid it will be easier in the end, if you completely deleted your current TS4 installation, and started from scratch here:
