Sims 1 Complete will not start
Ok, I'm having an issue with The Sims 1 Complete Edition that I recently downloaded. I installed it via the english directory. I replaced the original .exe file with the cracked one. I have tried to run the thing in compatibility mode in Win 98, Win ME, Win XP SP2, and with visual themes disabled, and as an administrator. Nothing is working. Specifically; I try to open the game, the screen goes blank for a few moments as if it's starting. The screen then goes back to the desktop. No error message, no error sound. Nothing. Just plain will not start. I went into the DEP or whatever it's called, added the .exe file for The Sims to the list. STILL nothing. I am using Windows Vista. Please, for the love of fucking hell do NOT REPLY TO THIS IF YOU'RE GOING TO BLAST WINDOWS VISTA. It's what I'm stuck with and hearing people going on about how it sucks is NOT going to help me; I AM AWARE OF HOW CRAPPY IT IS. I just need a fix for this, please. Thanks in advance, guys and gals.

Thanks, I was kinda worried this was just skipped over. It's not a HUGE problem and it's clearly nothing wrong with the DL...it's just Vista being an unbelievable pain in my ass [nothing new there]. Look forward to the assist! :]

Hello,
You're not the only one with this problem I believe people with different OS have had this same problem as well.

Re: Sims 1 Complete will not start
I tried to run it in windowed mode. The windowed version did the same thing; it was blank for a few moments, then just autoclosed itself. No error or anything.

Hello,
That's odd. Try adding the game to your DEP. These are the instructions for The Sims 3, but it works the same way for The Sims 1: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-10-01-2012

Hello, creedofheresy wrote:Already did, mentioned that in my first post, actually.
Sorry about that; due to the high amount of problems I'm confronted with daily, I lose track of what I already suggested.
Please download and install the latest drivers for your graphic card and restart your PC afterwards. See if it makes a difference.
