Manual Patch for Sims 3 Problem

I finally installed everything but got an invalid file error so after multiple attempts at downloading the manual patch it finally got finished... i double click on it it takes a while to open and starts updating my game.. but thn the load bar doesnt even move once it starts and after a while im asked for a disk and thn i get error msgs.. Can anyone tell me how to fix this. Plz Plz.. im downloading the patch on a different laptop at the moment and im wondering should i uninstall My Sims 3 and the expansions. Thn Reinstall. Thn patch. Thn appy the ultimate fix.. What if the patch doesnt work again? How do i fix all this. ??

Hello,

Uninstalling your entire game seems like a bit much.
If the patch you're downloading on another laptop doesn't work either, try downloading it with a different browser and don't interrupt the download. I think the one you downloaded didn't transfer correctly and got corrupted that way.
