The Sims 3 Crashing help

I have the Sims 3 base game already purchased and downloaded from Origin. I am trying to download a few of the expansions.
They installed alright, but the game crashes every time I enter a lot and try to play the game.
I tried all of the fixes in the thread about the game crashing and none of them have seemed to work.
Because it was downloaded from Origin the files are a little bit different. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Are there any other things that I can try?

I know that it just updated the other day... version says 11.0.84.016001

That's your launcher version. To find the base game version, you hover over the base game icon in the bottom left of the launcher, like this.
